‘CORNISH’ LIGHT GREY GRANITE

LIMESTONE
This alluring stone is widely used in construction due to its durability, workability, and ultimately its attractive appearance.
Limestone can vary in colour from light beige to dark grey, depending on its mineral content and impurities. Its versatility makes it a popular choice for building materials, flooring, and architectural details, such as columns and facades. Over centuries, limestone has been a key material in iconic structures, including the Egyptian pyramids and medieval cathedrals.

After a memorial plaque has been installed, especially as they are set low in the ground and surrounded by beautiful natural vegetation, it will be subjected to all manner of weather conditions and many environmental elements. Many people like the fact that these natural limestone memorials will blend with the surrounding environment and weather naturally over time.
However, some also wish to have their memorial appearing clean and legible. In these cases it is an important consideration to have the memorial regularly cared for. The Memorial Aftercare® service provides fully comprehensive maintenance for your loved one’s memorial. We would recommend trimming of surrounding grass in very close proximity of the memorial plaque together with very gentle washing with just pure fresh water and a very soft cloth or extremely soft bristle brush for more stubborn stains such as bird droppings etc will help prolong the beautiful appearance of your new stone.
However, Summers provide a full professional memorial maintenance service which helps preserve the memorial’s condition and provides you with peace of mind that your plaque is being well cared for. The memorial receives regular visits throughout the year by our trained and skilled staff and the memorial is professionally cleaned and tended to, the grass surrounding the memorial is trimmed back and the memorial is checked and inspected for any problems.
Our craftsmen that are responsible for the memorial installation are always mindful of the respect and reverence they need to have for the environment in which this work takes place. They are proficient in all approved methods of fixing memorials which can vary from area to area and depend on the design and size of each memorial.
EXISTING MEMORIALS – If you have an existing memorial plaque you would now like to be cared for by our Memorial Maintenance Service then we would be glad to inspect it (there is no charge for this service) and provide you with a quotation to firstly refurbish it to then be able to include it on the Maintenance scheme.
