South Bristol Crematorium was first opened in 1971, and the Cemetery was added soon after, with the first internments taking place in 1974. This Bristol cemetery is located in the south of the city at Bedminster Down.   

The South Bristol Cemetery is run by the local council and is the largest cemetery in Bristol. It is laid out to a ‘lawn design’ with sloping hills and beautiful views of the open countryside. The cemetery overlooks the beautiful River Avon and the Clifton Suspension Bridge; a view that is often described as the best in the city.  

The Cemetery has dedicated sections for Baby Memorials and Woodland Burials, as well as areas for members of the Baháʼí, Chinese, Jewish, Muslim and Polish communities.
